Known for its high-quality and award-winning designs, Peikert Group Architects (PGA) designs market-rate and affordable multi-family and senior housing, as well as mixed-use and commercial projects along California’s South Coast. The firm has received more than 60 local, state and national design awards.
As a result of the merger, completed July 1, PGA will now operate under the name Peikert+RRM Design Group in the Santa Barbara region. The firm, which will continue to be located in Santa Barbara, has 11 employees. RRM has about 80.
“We believe the timing is very good due to the strengthening economy and return of the housing industry, which is what PGA focuses on,” said Erik Justesen, president and CEO of RRM Design Group.
Justesen, who declined to disclose details about the purchase agreement, also noted that the merger will allow each firm to capitalize on each other’s strengths and “provides high value expertise to existing and future clients.”
Earlier this year, RRM Design Group opened an office in Santa Maria in an effort to better serve its northern Santa Barbara clients. The office is located at 1862 S. Broadway, Suite 101, and is part of a broader expansion of the firm.
RRM also has an office in San Clemente and opened a field office in El Segundo to serve its growing Los Angeles clientele.
The firm has been in business in San Luis Obispo since 1974.
