Expanded adventure tours, a 5K or 10K walk/run, and two new events — Sunset on the Sand in Pismo Beach and Sunset in the Vineyard at Vina Robles — are planned for the fourth annual Sunset Savor the Central Coast, set for Sept. 26-29.
The popular evening at Hearst Castle also will return.
The four-day food and wine festival presented by Sunset magazine and Visit San Luis Obispo County will offer wine and food tastings, demonstrations and food and wine seminars at the Main Event at Santa Margarita Ranch on Sept. 28 and 29, as well as two days of adventure tours (compared to one last year), and dinners. This year’s theme is “Time to Play.”
A weekend pass for the Main Event is on sale this month for $100 — a $50 price break. After that, it will be $150 for Saturday and Sunday or $85 per day.

Featured chefs at the Main Event include Michael Voltaggio, author, chef and owner of the notable Los Angeles restaurants ink. and ink.sack; and Nathan Lyon, host of Good Food America on the Veria Living channel and co-host of Growing A Greener World on PBS.
Last year’s Savor event drew nearly 10,000 people, up 11 percent from the previous year, and generated an economic impact of $3.58 million, a 22 percent increase, officials said.
