The McDonald’s restaurant in Arroyo Grande will close for renovations starting May 4 through much of the summer.
The fast-food restaurant at 410 E. Grand Ave. was built in the 1970s and includes a 3,119-square-foot building, a 1,331-square-foot basement and a 1,385-square-foot playground.
The remodel was approved by the Arroyo Grande Planning Commission in December. At the time, Community Development Director Teresa McClish said the plans would provide “a nice facelift for a very visible property.”
When it reopens, the restaurant will boast a contemporary design and include updates including LED lighting, an indoor “PlayPlace,” side-by-side drive-through lanes and digital menu boards, according to a news release. The drive-through will be open 24 hours.
Never miss a local story.
There are five McDonald’s locations in the South County, including in the Walmart shopping center in Arroyo Grande, and in Grover Beach, Nipomo and Pismo Beach.
