Rosetta, a digital and direct interactive advertising agency based in San Luis Obispo, unveiled its new 48,000-square foot headquarters in the East Airport Commerce Park on Wednesday.
The new center of operations was built to accommodate 300 employees, about 150 more than now employed by the company. Tom Adamski, Rosetta president and CEO, said he anticipates reaching full capacity in the next three years.
A state of the art 3,500-square-foot video and motion graphics production studio will be completed in the next month and will be used as a recruiting point for qualified employees, said Adamski.
The studio will be used to create audio and video content for the web and television.
In addition, a “Commerce Center of Excellence”, sponsored by IBM, will be assembled within the new building to allow employees to study consumer behaviors and ways to integrate branding and commerce.
New jobs will include graphic designers, mobile and web designers, software engineers and people experienced in video and motion production.
The modern-style building, designed by local architect George Garcia, is Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified for energy conservation and use of natural light.
It was developed by San Luis Obispo-based NKT Commercial.
Collaborative workspaces, a sleek interior in muted grays and blues, 11 conference rooms and an outdoor basketball court are a part of its two-story design. It also houses 35 miles worth of cables needed to run the software development company.
The quirky nature of the fast-paced company is apparent throughout the new building with signs posted warning people not to use drinking stations to fill water balloons and conference rooms named after planets in the "Star Wars" films.
In 2011, Rosetta, formerly Level Studios, joined the Publicis Groupe, the third largest communications group in the world, after being acquired by Rosetta in 2010.
