Applied Technologies Associates, a Paso Robles company that designs, builds and manufactures technology products for the oil industry, is expanding.
The company estimates it will add 40 jobs in Paso Robles in 2012 and as many as 200 jobs over the next three to five years.
Applied Technologies recently broke ground on a 23,000-square-foot expansion of its engineering and manufacturing campus at 3025 Buena Vista Drive on the Paso Robles Municipal Airport property.
The addition of this structure brings the total number of Applied Technologies’ buildings at the airport to six. The company has another software engineering building on the Cal Poly campus.
Of the positions the company is looking to fill, 20 of them are in the engineering field. The other positions include assemblers and manufacturers.
“It’s exciting to be on the front end of the economic recovery,” said Rob McKee, senior vice president and general manager for Applied Technologies Associates.
McKee declined to discuss the cost of the construction project, saying only that it is a multimillion-dollar figure.
The expansion is expected to be completed by Sept. 1.
