The owners of San Luis Obispo’s Jaffa Café are opening a second location, this one at 206 E. Branch St. in Arroyo Grande’s Village, said Adnan Saleh, who owns the business with his brother Ali Saleh and sister-in law Wendy Saleh.
Jaffa Café first opened on Higuera Street in San Luis Obispo in 2002. It features Middle Eastern and Mediterranean fare.
Adnan Saleh decided to look for a second location because many customers from the North and South County asked him to open a cafe in their areas.
Business has been steady despite the tough economic climate, he said.
“I haven’t raised prices for the last three years, and I don’t want to,” he added. “I am not looking to be a millionaire. I just want jobs for me and my brother, instead of working for someone else.”
The Arroyo Grande restaurant will be half the size of the San Luis Obispo one, but will feature the same menu.
It will be managed by Ali and Wendy Saleh and will have four full-time and two part-time employees. The San Luis Obispo Jaffa has seven full-time and two part-time employees.
The restaurant should open at the end of January.
