A San Luis Obispo wine tasting room is set to relocate to Paso Robles next month.
The Pithy Little Wine Co., located at 1037 Chorro St. since 2009, will be moving to 1244 Pine St.
The move-in date is tentatively set for June 24, according to the company’s website, www.pithywine.com.
During the relocation process, the San Luis Obispo location will remain open, owners Jeff Munsey and Felicia Alvarez say on their website. The plan is to keep the San Luis Obispo tasting room open through Memorial Day weekend, Munsey said.
The Chorro Street space needs to be seismically retrofitted, and they wanted to move before harvest, he added.
The move also brings the tasting room closer to the company’s winery, which operates as a private wine-making facility on the west side of Paso Robles.
The new space is more than double the size of the current location, Munsey said, allowing its office operations more space for its online shipping and packing division.
The company’s four tasting room employees will remain with the shop, as will seasonal part-time help, Munsey said.
The company will continue to sell its old-fashioned sodas during San Luis Obispo farmers market.
Munsey started the Pithy Little Wine Co. in 2006, making just a few dozen cases of chardonnay. Over the years, he’s grown that to 2,000 cases, including chardonnay, syrah, pinot noir and zinfandel. Pithy plans to release new blends in June to coincide with the grand opening in Paso Robles.
