Monterey Street Wine Co. in SLO is closing

Monterey Street Wine Co. of San Luis Obispo is closing Friday night, according to an email that the owners sent to longtime patrons.

“We have enjoyed the conversation and enthusiasm you brought to the shop but economics have not worked out,” according to Donna Wolfe, who thanked her loyal employees, friends and customers on behalf of herself and John Stipicevich.

The wine shop, at 1255 Monterey St., Suite A, has been in business for at least 10 years.

No additional information was available Friday morning. The Tribune could not reach Stipicevich or Wolfe for comment.
