Multimillion-dollar renovation underway at Tolosa Winery

Robin Baggett — an attorney, founder of Alpha Omega Winery in Napa Valley and namesake of Cal Poly’s baseball stadium — became the sole owner of the Edna Valley winery in San Luis Obispo County last year. Since then, he has hired a new winemaker, rolled out new labels and begun a multimillion-dollar remodel of the winery and tasting spaces.

Far-reaching tribal solidarity displayed at pipeline protest

Native Americans from reservations hundreds of miles away from North Dakota have joined the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe's growing protest against a $3.8 billion four-state oil pipeline that they say could disturb sacred sites and impact drinking water for 8,000 tribal members and millions further downstream.
