The Morro Bay City Council is expected to award a multimillion dollar contract for pedestrian and bike access near the Embarcadero.
The city will award nearly $1.7 million from a State Coastal Conservancy grant and federal funding for the construction of a pedestrian boardwalk near the intersection of Embarcadero Road and Beach Street stretching to Morro Rock.
Part of the boardwalk includes a bike path from the power plant’s water intake building along the bay and adjacent to the boardwalk providing beach access.
City Council members are expected to discuss the contract at tonight’s council meeting.
