Third District Supervisor candidate Adam Hill has issued seven position papers, on a range of topics from providing work force housing to maintaining an adequate water supply.
Hill is running against incumbent Jerry Lenthall in the June 3 primary election.
The district includes Pismo Beach, Grover Beach, Avila Beach and parts of San Luis Obispo.
In a series of papers, Hill has also said what he believes the county should do about jobs, public safety, energy efficiency, property rights and smart growth.
Among his many suggestions:
• Create regional agreements that coordinate water and land use planning;
•Work more closely with Cal Poly on economic planning to create jobs and encourage business;
• Fight the methedrine epidemic with, among other things, a detox facility;
• Try to manage growth in high-fire areas to prevent wild fires;
• Create incentives for smaller homes to be built; and
• Try to preserve mobile home parks and other affordable housing.
