This week San Luis Obispo County Animal Services volunteer Ellen Perryess features handsome kitty, Blaze, who is looking for a forever home.
If car keys are lost we search. If a jigsaw puzzle piece is missing we look. Yet for many, when their dog or cat is lost they don’t come to the one facility that houses our county’s lost and homeless pets — the SLO County Animal Services shelter.
Case in point, Blaze has been at our county animal shelter since mid-March and no one has come looking for him; sadly, when he arrived at the shelter he needed medical help — surgeries to repair a hernia as well as a damaged eyelid.
At another shelter, this would likely be beyond what they could afford to do. Thankfully, community donations to the shelter’s Animal Requesting Friends (ARF) Fund made Blaze’s surgeries possible. Blaze has made a complete recovery and is now looking for a lifelong home.
Blaze is a strikingly handsome, 5-year-old cat with a gentle disposition and beautiful markings. He appreciates human attention and has done well with all the cats he’s met at the shelter. Blaze is a calm boy who is initially shy when meeting new people, so he’d appreciate joining a quiet household.
Blaze is hoping he’s the missing piece that someone has been looking for to make their life complete.
ARF Fund donations can be made by sending a check to: SLO County Animal Services — ARF Fund, PO Box 4110, San Luis Obispo, CA 93403
