SLO-4-Pups volunteers and the California Conservation Corps will hold a workday from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday to spread wood chips and repair fences at the El Chorro Dog Park off Highway 1 in San Luis Obispo.

Adopt a Chihuahua
In an effort to find new homes for an abundance of Chihuahuas at Woods Humane Society, and through its adoption program with the San Luis Obispo Animal Services shelter, Woods is waiving the adoption fees for Chihuahuas through January. All adoptions include spay or neuter, vaccinations and microchip. A $25 county registration fee is not included. Woods is at 875 Oklahoma Ave., San Luis Obispo. Adopt a cat in SLO
The Feline Network of the Central Coast holds kitten adoptions from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Saturday at the Petco store in the Madonna shopping center in San Luis Obispo.
Kittens and cats have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, dewormed and tested for leukemia and FIV. Adoption fee is $60.
