Here’s a look at upcoming animal-related events in San Luis Obispo County:
K9 unit fundraiser
The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Advisory Foundation will host a fundraiser to support the sheriff’s K9 unit from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Moose Lodge in Pismo Beach. Meet the K9s, enjoy a Santa Maria-style tritip barbecue, and take part in a silent auction and raffle. A tax-deductible donation of $25 will help support and maintain the unit. Horse camp for kids
Adventures with Gentle Horses children’s camps will be from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Heaven Can Wait Equine Sanctuary. Children ages 5 to 12 will learn basic equine manners , body language, safety skills and round pen activities. Heaven Can Wait is at 6275 Cerros Pioneros in San Miguel. Money for dog parks
SLO-4-PUPs will hold a fundraising garage sale for El Chorro Dog Park from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at 915 Mesa St. in Morro Bay. All proceeds benefit the dog park. For more information, call 543-7213, 528-5465 or 772-1971.
Morro Bay Pups will participate in the Morro Bay citywide garage sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at 2988 Birch St., in Morro Bay. All proceeds benefit the Jody Giannini Family Dog Park at Del Mar Park. Home-baked breads and dog cookies, along with various other items, will be sold.

Wine tasting for Woods
Wine 4 Paws, a fundraising event for Woods Humane Society, will be held at more than 60 participating wineries throughout San Luis Obispo County on April 13 and 14. During the weekend, the Wine 4 Paws wineries will donate a portion of their proceeds to Woods Humane Society. Adopt a cat in SLO
The Feline Network holds cat and kitten adoptions from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Saturday at the Petco in the Madonna Shopping Center in San Luis Obispo.
Cats and kittens are spayed or neutered, tested and vaccinated.
The adoption fee if $60 for one or $80 for two. A free vet exam is included.
