St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church will offer a blessing of the animals at 11 a.m. Oct. 3 at Emerson Park in San Luis Obispo, across the street from the church.
Bring your pets on a leash, stuffed animals and/or pictures of pets, endangered species, etc. Refreshments will be served in the church’s parish hall after the blessing.
El Chorro Dog Park celebrates 14 years
El Chorro Dog Park in San Luis Obispo will celebrate its 14th anniversary from noon to
3 p.m. Oct. 11 at the dog park.
Festivities include anniversary cupcakes, appetizers, beverages and doggie treats. Former president and co-founder Ann Calhoun will be remembered with a tribute and the unveiling of her memorial bench. The event is sponsored by SLO-4-PUPS. For more information, call 543-7213.
Adopt a cat in San Luis Obispo
The Feline Network of the Central Coast has an abundance of cute kittens that need forever homes in order to make room for new kittens that need to be placed in foster care. Kitten adoptions are from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Saturday at Petco in the Madonna Shopping Center in San Luis Obispo. Kittens and cats have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated and tested for leukemia and FIV.

Fee-free kitty cats
Woods Humane Society is waiving adoption fees for all adult cats in September. All cats are current on vaccinations, have been spayed or neutered, have a microchip, and come with a collar and tag, cat carrier and a free veterinary health exam.

Cause for Paws
The Homeless Animal Rescue Team Guardian Angel program is sponsoring a fundraising raffle from now through Oct. 31. Raffle tickets are available for purchase, one ticket for $10, or three for $25.
Tickets can be purchased at the HART office, 2638 Main St. in Cambria, or over the phone at 927-7377. All proceeds go will go to paying medical expenses for the cats and kittens of HART.
