Want to extend your winery visit overnight? Check out these wineries offering accommodations as well as libations.
Zenaida Cellars (1550 Highway 46 West, 866-ZEN-LOFT) lets out its "Winemaker’s Loft," a self-serve guest suite that sleeps two to six, with kitchen and laundry, a covered private deck and wireless Internet access. Rates go from $250 to $375.
Stay in the 100-year-old farmhouse featured on the label of Dunning Vineyards (1953 Niderer Road, 805-238-4763) estate wines. Suite 1 sleeps one to two for $175 a night; Suite 2 sleeps two to four for $269. Both have vineyard views, a deck or porch and access to the winery’s 80 acres for exploring.
The Summerwood Inn at Summerwood Winery (2175 Arbor Road, 805-227-1111) exudes elegance and luxury. It has nine rooms, each with a fireplace and private balcony overlooking the vineyards. The grounds offer beautiful gardens and serene gazebos, arbors and patios. Dine on a gourmet breakfast, with wine and appetizers in the afternoon and desserts in the evening. Rates from $239-$329, depending on the room.

Retreat to the adobe "casitas" perched against the mountainside overlooking the vineyards and surrounding canyon at Wild Coyote’s bed and breakfast (3775 Adelaida Road, 805-610-1311). New Mexico-style decorated rooms feature patios and fireplaces. There’s an outdoor hot tub, paths for walking and massages by appointment. Rates are $225-$375, with a two-night minimum on weekends and major holidays, and include gourmet continental breakfast, a bottle of wine and tasting fees.
Wine Spectator recently lauded The Just Inn at Justin Vineyards (11680 Chimney Rock Road, 800-726-0049 ext. 300) for its luxury accommodations. The four suites -- Tuscany, Provence, Sussex and Bordeaux -- are individually decorated in their respective styles, and three offer Jacuzzi tubs. Dine in Deborah’s Room, sign up for a vineyard, winery or barrel tasting tour, take a dip in the spa or pool, stroll the gardens or just relax. Rates are $375-395.
A few private vineyards also offer accommodations. Asuncion Ridge (805-461-0675) is a 32-acre estate with coastline and sprawling hillside views and verandas to take it all in. A stay at one of the three suites ($249-$349 per night) includes a buffet champagne breakfast and wine and cheese.
Walk to close-by wineries from Chanticleer Vineyard Bed & Breakfast (805-226-0600), whose 20 acres feature a barn, seasonal creek, vineyard and animals. Each of the three rooms has a private deck, fireplace, soaker tub and wireless Internet access. Spa treatments are available. Rates are $245-$285, including farm-fresh breakfast and a bottle of wine, with a two night minimum (three on major holidays and special events). No children or smoking.
The Winemakers Porch Bed & Breakfast at Frances James Vineyard (805-237-2168) offers three suites on Paso’s east side. In addition to breakfast, join the winemakers in the barrel room for appetizers and tastings of reserve vintages. And while you’re removed from the hustle and bustle, you can still take advantage wireless Internet access. Rates are $175-$265, with a two-night minimum on weekends.
