This weekend brings warm weather to the Central Coast. And lucky for you, it also brings National Ice Cream Day.
There are a bunch of restaurants that will be celebrating Sunday, July 16, with freebies and discounts for ice-cream lovers in San Luis Obispo County. Here’s a look at some of those deals (though participation may vary by location):
McDonald’s: McDonald’s is giving away free vanilla soft serve cones, but you have to download the restaurant’s app. From 2 to 5 p.m., someone will have the chance to win free soft serve for life when one Golden Arches Cone will be handed out.
Denny’s: On July 16, get a free banana split with the purchase of two entrees.
Wendy’s: The chain is offering its Frosty’s in vanilla and chocolate for 50 cents through the end of summer.
Whole Foods: Ben & Jerry’s ice cream and frozen yogurt will be on sale, two pints for $6, at all locations.
A&W: Free regular shake with the purchase of an original bacon double cheeseburger.
Coldstone Creamery: Join the rewards program and receive an emailed coupon for buy-one, get-one-free on July 16.
Dairy Queen: The chain, which has a location in Santa Maria, is offering a BOGO coupon if you join their Blizzard Fan Club.
Dippin’ Dots: The store will offer free mini cups of the sweet treat. The offer is good only during a two-hour window; check with locations for exact time. There are Dippin’ Dots locations in Monterey and Ventura.
Doc Burnstein’s: We checked, and this local favorite isn’t offering specials Sunday.
