Central Coast Tech: Tech meeting this month offers pointers on creating Web sites

A t the September meeting of the SLO Bytes PC Users Group, Ralph Sutter, the group’s Web master, offers pointers on creating Web pages.

Sutter also will use the free FileSilla software to transfer the pages to Freehostia, a free Web hosting service.

The meeting is set for Sunday at the I. O. O. F. Hall, 520 Dana St. in San Luis Obispo.

Alan Raul’s Q&A session and the Windows special interest group for novice users start at 12:45 p. m.

The main presentation begins at 2:30 p. m. The meeting is free.

Freeware also will be the topic at the September meeting of the Cambria Computer Club Macintosh User Group. Jack Hennessy will demonstrate free software available for Mac OS X.

The meeting is set for 2 p. m. Thursday in the Joslyn Recreation Center conference room, 950 Main St. in Cambria.

A Q&A session precedes the main presentation.

Managing your images

Don Jones will cover how to organize your digital photos at the September Computerooters meeting, demonstrating two ways to keep your digital photo collection under control.

The meeting is set for 10 a. m. Thursday at the Ramona Park Garden Center, Ramona and 10th streets in Grover Beach.

The public is welcome. A contribution of $2 per person is requested.
