Fewer people arrested for DUI during the Mid-State Fair this year

That is a 29 percent reduction over 2007, when 24 people were arrested, according to officials.

The Paso Robles Police Department and other local law enforcement agencies targeted drunk drivers during the fair through "saturation" and normal patrol shifts. The goal of the saturation patrols was to reduce drunk drivers on the road.

Six people were arrested on suspcion of DUI during the saturation patrols, and 11 were arrested during normal patrols.
