UPDATE: Four injured in rollover accident on Highway 101 Monday

Four Santa Maria residents were injured in a accident on southbound Highway 101 north of Mattie Road Monday.

Around 5:35 p.m., an unidentified vehicle made an unsafe lane change into the southbound lane of Highway 101 where 19-year-old Ismael Ramirez Venegas was driving a 1996 Ford Explorer.

Venegas swerved and lost control of the SUV, which rolled over and came to rest on its roof. Venegas sustained moderate injuries and was taken to Arroyo Grande Community Hospital.

Three passengers -- Rosa Garcia, 19, Emilia Garcia, unknown age and Petrolina Garcia, unknown age -- were also sent to Arroyo Grande Hospital. Rosa and Emilia Garcia had moderate injuries and Petrolina Garcia had minor injuries. All are Santa Maria residents.
