Five free shows at Mid-State Fair announced

Five free stage acts for this year’s California Mid-State Fair were announced Monday.

All of the acts will appear on the Fort Frontier Stage, where entertainment is free with admission to the fair. Performances for each group are scheduled for 6:30 and 8:30 p.m.

The acts are:

Rod Piazza and the Might Flyers Blues Quartet, July 25.

Bo Bice, runner up on Season 4 of American Idol, July 28.

Skillet, Christian rock and hard rock band, July 30.

Grand Funk Railroad, of “We’re an American Band” and “Loco-Motion” fame, July 31.

Gary Lewis and The Playboys, with over 45 million records sold since 1964, Aug. 2.
