A woman was killed in a traffic wreck on Highway 58 early Saturday while driving her daughter to Paso Robles.
The fatal crash killed Susan Lynn Cox, 46, and left her daughter, Krys Carminati, 22, also of Paso Robles, with minor injuries around 6:55 a.m., according to California Highway Patrol officials.
Neither woman was wearing a seatbelt as Cox drove a Toyota pickup west on Highway 58 about nine miles east of Shell Creek Road at an unknown speed.
Cox was driving her daughter to Paso Robles before going to work in that city.
For unexplained reasons Cox drove straight when the roadway curved slightly to the left. She overcorrected to the left and crossed both lanes and crashed through a fence before the truck rolled several times. Both women were thrown through the windshield, CHP officials said.
Cox was pronounced dead at the scene and Carminati was taken to Twin Cities Community Hospital.
The cause of the wreck is under investigation.
Police are asking anyone who may have seen the crash to contact them.
