Late photographer Edward Weston’s black and white nude photo of his wife, Charis, sold for $325,000 today at Sotheby’s auction house in New York, according to Bloomberg.com.
Weston's 1936 photo was shot at the Oceano Dunes and marks one of his most celebrated periods as a photographer.
The buyer of "Nude on Sand, Oceano,'" wanted to remain anonymous, the Bloomberg report said.
Weston died in 1958.
The story can be read and a copy of the photo can be seen by clicking here.
