58-year-old man arrested for alleged sexual assault at Pirate's Cove

A 58-year-old Shell Beach man has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting another man at Pirate’s Cove.

The assault took place around 1 a.m. Thursday at Pirates Cove, according to the Sheriff's Department. The victim, a 34-year-old Santa Maria man, was sent to Marian Medical Center in Santa Maria.

Ronald John Tomasini was arrested after he would found near the crime scene allegedly removing items that were evidence, according to the Sheriff's Department.

He was booked into County Jail on suspicion of assault with intent to commit rape, sexual assault with force, sodomy and tampering with evidence, according to the Sheriff's Department. His bail was set at $100,000.
