A Central Coast narcotics detail has concluded a six-month drug investigation with six arrests and seizure of $1 million worth of marijuana and hashish.
The Santa Maria Police Department’s Narcotic Suppression Team, the Santa Barbara Regional Narcotic Enforcement Team and federal officers collaborated in the investigation.
Six men from Santa Maria to Los Angeles County have been arrested and cash and weapons have been seized. A Santa Maria man and a Santa Barbara man have eluded capture.
Police Chief Danny Macagni says the arrests followed the serving of search warrants March 13. The busts were announced Wednesday.
Macagni says federal drug agents are now investigating one of the suspects’ ties to a medical marijuana facility in Santa Barbara.
