Rock and blues artist John Mayer will perform at the 2008 California Mid-State Fair, and pop singer Colbie Caillat will open his show.
Boz Scaggs will also perform at the fair this year, it was announced Thursday.
Mayer will be coming to the fair for the first time. He’ll perform July 23 in the Main Grandstand Arena.
The five time Grammy winner recently released his third album. In addition to his soulful pop songwriting, he’s become known for his collaborations with artists from various genres, ranging from Eric Clapton to Kanye West. He's know for songs "Waiting on the World to Change," "Your Body is a Wonderland" and the recently-released "Say."
Caillat, 22, recently had a No. 1 hit with "Bubbles."
Tickets will be $40 to $56 and go on sale April 25 at 10 a.m.
Singer-songwriter Scaggs will perform during “An Evening of Music and Wine” at the fair on Aug. 1.
Tickets will be $29 and $54, or sold in tables of 8 for $432. They go on sale April 25 at 10 a.m.
Scaggs also performed during the 2002 fair.

Rod Stewart, Toby Keith and Alan Jackson are also scheduled to play at this year's fair, which runs from July 23 to Aug. 3.
