The Charles Paddock Zoo on Saturday opened a new Madagascar exhibit in Atascadero. It’s the first of five displays that will feature endangered animals from around the world.

Vote-by-mail ballots for the 2016 election have made records for San Luis Obispo County, Clerk-Recorder Tommy Gong said on Sunday. “We’ve never had this many ballots issued and returned,” Gong said.
