Republican National Committee chairman Robert M. “Mike” Duncan named McCarthy to the position, not Tom Cole, the chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee. • A photo caption published Sunday on the front page incorrectly listed the high schools in San Luis Obispo County that have pools. Nipomo High School has a pool, as do the campuses in Atascadero and Arroyo Grande.
