Former Pismo firefighter, victim of brain hemorrhage, donates organs to seven people

NEWPORT BEACH — A former Pismo Beach firefighter who died of a brain hemorrhage saved seven lives when he donated his organs, Newport Beach fire officials said.

Kevin Patrick Pryor, 31, of Westlake Village died Tuesday after fighting fires in Northern California.

Pryor worked with the former Pismo Beach Fire Department from 1999 to 2003. He joined the Newport Beach Fire Department in 2005.

Representatives from transplant donor network OneLegacy approached Pryor’s wife at a hospital, and she agreed to donate his heart, liver, kidneys, lungs and pancreas, said the group’s spokesman.
