The county anti-drug task force arrested 12 people Friday after a months-long investigation of a narcotics distribution ring, police said.

Police said they seized methamphetamine, cocaine and four firearms, including an assault weapon, while searching 10 locations in Paso Robles. Local, state and federal agencies cooperated in the searches.

Eleven children were referred to Child Protective Services, police said.

Of the 12 people arrested and booked into County Jail, 11 were from Paso Robles and one was from San Miguel.

Nipomo

Sheriff’s deputies are looking for the owner of a horse found Sunday.

The horse was found at Osage Street and Eucalyptus Road several hours after someone called the Sheriff's Department to report a stray horse had been spotted near Pomeroy Road and Olympic Way.

The horse is described as a mustang gelding, approximately 15 hands high, black in color and 8 to 9 years old.

Anyone with information can call Darren Davidson, rural crime unit deputy, at 781-4550.

No charges are pending against the owner, sheriff’s officials said; deputies just want to return the animal to its owner.
