Jackson's father cannot challenge will executors

closeMichael Jackson's father has lost his bid to challenge the appointment of executors of his son's will, with a judge saying he has no legal standing.
The judge said on Tuesday that Joe Jackson can pursue a motion to receive a family allowance from the estate, but does not stand to inherit any of Michael Jackson's assets because he is not named in the will.
At the same time, the judge unsealed records of the costs incurred for Michael Jackson's private family funeral. It cost the estate about $1 million.
The decision on Joe Jackson's challenge came after a lawyer for his wife announced that Katharine Jackson had decided to withdraw her objections to naming John Branca and John McClain executors of the will.
The judge approved them as executors.
