It’s about children

Morro BayJuly 17, 2014

Children! Children coming to our country, alone, because conditions have become too dangerous at home. Can we take that tragedy and let it rest in our human hearts?

I read in the paper how the GOP wants to change the 2008 law that was designed to protect victims of sex trafficking. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., declares that he will not give President Barack Obama a “blank check” to deal with the crisis.

Indeed, in order to get the check from Republican congressmen, there needs first to be a circumvention of the 2008 sex-trafficking law.

Children! If we can’t feel compassion for them, what hope is there?
