Stuart homers in 5-for-5 performance, Garretson hits grand slam, and Indians pile up 19 hits in rout

Mac Stuart went 5 for 5 with a home run, a double, five runs and three RBI, Andy Garretson was 2 for 5 with a grand slam and five RBI, and the North County Indians won 17-12 in a summer collegiate baseball slugfest over the visiting West Coast Kings on Monday night.

Ben Polshuk was 2 for 3 with a double, two runs and two RBI for the Indians, and teammate Corbin Meikle went 2 for 6 with a triple and two RBI.

Sinjin Todd went 4 for 5 with three runs and one RBI for the Indians, who improved to 21-8.

Davey Casciola was 3 for 5 with a double, three runs and one RBI for North County, which piled up 19 hits.

Local youth star Lee is honored

Brooks Lee, a standout baseball player with the Santa Ynez Titans travel team, has been selected to the National Team Identification Series 13-and-under Team Northern California roster, according to a news release.

Lee, a catcher, will play in the event Sept. 4-7 in Cary, N.C.
