An empty panga boat was found abandoned on San Simeon State Beach early Wednesday morning, authorities say.

The boat, estimated to be between 30 and 35 feet long, was found at 2:50 a.m., according to a news release from the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office.

No narcotics were found inside the boat, and no one is in custody in connection with the incident.

The Sheriff’s Office towed the boat from the scene and will now take possession of it, according to the release.

Investigation is ongoing.

This is the 14th panga boat found on San Luis Obispo County beaches since May 2012, according to previous Tribune reports. The last was found June 26, four miles north of the Piedras Blancas Light Station, and was similarly empty of narcotics.
