Misleading statement

AtascaderoJuly 7, 2014

Your front-page article on single women voters repeated the very misleading statement that the Supreme Court decision says “family-owned corporations do not have to provide birth control in their insurance coverage.”

In fact, the corporation only objected to four out of 20 types of birth control, leaving 16 forms still covered by insurance. Repeating this inaccurate statement worsens the already poisonous political atmosphere and encourages extremism. Shame on The New York Times for printing it, and on The Tribune for reprinting it without correction.

The Tribune is pleased to provide this opportunity to share information, experiences and observations about what's in the news. Some of the comments may be reprinted elsewhere in the site or in the newspaper. We encourage lively, open debate on the issues of the day, and ask that you refrain from profanity, hate speech, personal comments and remarks that are off point. Thank you for taking the time to offer your thoughts.
