Jeff Moberg went 3 for 5 with two runs scored, a double and an RBI, Austin O’Brien was 2 for 4 with a pair of doubles and two RBI, and the San Luis Obispo Blues summer collegiate baseball team rolled to a 9-4 home win over the Long Beach Legends on Sunday.

Joel Atkinson went 2 for 4 with two runs for the Blues, who scored five runs in the sixth inning.

San Luis Obispo starter Vance Tatum pitched four scoreless innings, allowing one hit and two walks with three strikeouts.

North County rips ATH San Diego

Andy Garretson went 4 for 4 with a triple and an RBI, Austin Kron was 3 for 4 with a triple and three RBI, and the North County Indians cruised to a 13-1 victory over visiting Around the Horn San Diego on Sunday in Templeton.

Johnny Balliet went 3 for 5 with two RBI for the Indians, who improved to 18-6. Steve Pico (two runs, one RBI), Corbin Meikle (two runs) and Christian Priore (one RBI) added two hits each for North County, which piled up 20 hits.

Indians starter James Kannenberg was the winning pitcher. He lasted five innings, allowing five hits and two walks with four strikeouts. North County’s Bryan Kirkpatrick and Scott Romuk each struck out two in two scoreless innings of relief.

Mathias shines again for Team USA

Cal Poly infielder Mark Mathias hit a solo home run and a two-run double to help the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team to a 10-0 rout of Japan on Sunday in Thomasville, N.C.
