Dwight Yoakam to perform at Vina Robles this summer

Grammy Award-winning country star Dwight Yoakam will perform at Vina Robles Amphitheatre in Paso Robles in August.

Known for his hip blend of bluegrass, honky tonk and rockabilly, Yoakam is the platinum-selling singer-songwriter behind such hits as “Honky Tonk Man” and “Please, Please Baby.” His latest album 2012’s “3 Pears,” finds the Kentucky native collaborating with Beck, Kid Rock and Ashley Monroe.

Yoakam has also carved out a career as a character actor, appearing in “Panic Room,” “Sling Blade” and “The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada,” among other films.

Tickets for Yoakam’s Aug. 24 concert cost $45 to $80 and go on sale Saturday.
