Four San Luis Obispo County prep athletes were named spring all-CIF Southern Section when the organization announced its all-section picks in baseball, softball and boys volleyball.

Arroyo Grande senior Jack Empey, who was named the PAC 7 boys volleyball MVP, earned an all-CIF nod in Division 2. Empey, a setter who will play water polo at Air Force next fall, led the Eagles to the second round of the playoffs, where they fell to eventual champion Esperanza.

Atascadero sophomore Sally Bowles was a Division 3 selection. The pitcher compiled a 16-4 record this season, but the Greyhounds fell to California in the opening round of the playoffs.

Coast Union baseball made it to the semifinals of the Division 7 playoffs, and junior outfielder Gehrig Kniffen and senior shortstop Emmany Godinez were honored with all-section selections.
