Atascadero graduate Palma decides to transfer to Cal State East Bay

She was also a standout at Cuesta College

San Luis Obispo - The TribuneJune 23, 2014

Former Atascadero High and Cuesta College basketball standout Alyssa Palma will transfer to CSU East Bay for her senior season, Cuesta coach Ron Barba said.

Palma, who confirmed the news via Twitter, played one season for Adams State in Colorado this past year after a standout career with the Greyhounds and Cougars.

Palma appeared in all 27 games this year for Adams State, making three starts. She averaged 4.9 points and 1.9 rebounds per game, shooting just 25.8 percent from the floor. She scored 19 points in her team debut and registered 10 or more points in three of the next four games, including a season-high 21 on Nov. 16 against Northern New Mexico College.

The guard played two seasons under Barba, setting a program career scoring record of 766 points, which was eclipsed by Miriam Zabinsky’s 838 over the past two years.
