Law mends health care

CrestonJune 23, 2014

On June 20, in the Letters to the Editor section of The Tribune, John Maulhardt states that the Affordable Care Act will cause “rationing, long waits and deficient health care, aka Great Britain.”

To set the record straight: According to the World Health Organization, the United Kingdom ranks 18th on the list for best health care while the United States ranks 37th, ahead of Slovenia and Cuba. (France ranks first.) My 26 years of firsthand experience is with my husband’s family in England. They receive much better health care than we do. The ACA can only improve our dismal situation.
