Fire damages SLO home Thursday evening

A San Luis Obispo home was damaged in a fire Thursday evening.

The fire at the house at 240 Ramona St. was first reported at 7:08 p.m., according to a news release from the San Luis Obispo City Fire Department. When firefighters arrived four minutes later, they found the rear deck and back of the home in flames. The flames were rapidly spreading into the attic of the 1,400-square-foot house.

Firefighters had the blaze under control within 25 minutes of the initial 911 call, according to the news release.

No one was home when the fire broke out, and no one was injured. The fire caused an estimated $200,000 in damage.

The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
