North County Indians sweep doubleheader

Former San Luis Obispo High standout Davey Casciola racked up seven hits, Cal Poly recruit Ben Polshuk had four hits and four RBI, and the North County Indians moved over .500 with a doubleheader sweep of the Valley Bears.

Casciola was 4 for 4 with three runs in a 14-6 victory in the opener for North County (5-4). Austin Dondaville won on the mound after he allowed just one one unearned run on four hits while striking out five and walking none in five innings. Polshuk was 3 for 6 with three runs and two RBI.

In the nightcap, the Indians took a five-run lead into the bottom of the fifth inning and held on for an 8-7 victory in seven innings. Casciola was 3 for 4 with a double and RBI, and Paso Robles High product Josh Rodriguez was 4 for 4 with a double, two runs and two RBI. James Kannenberg pitched a perfect seventh for the save.
