Torrid, a plus-size clothing chain owned by Hot Topic Inc., will open as soon as July 15 at the Pismo Beach Premium Outlets, according to the outlet’s website.

Hot Topic also owns a music and pop culture-based clothing chain of the same name.

An employee at the outlet’s management center confirmed the store would be opening in the next month and said the store is under construction now.

The chain offers plus-sized versions of trendy clothing, in sizes 12 through 28. Though the brand was originally known for a more alternative style — similar to the style at its parent company, Hot Topic — it underwent a rebranding in recent years to achieve a “more aspirational brand image,” according to a statement issued by the company.

Torrid has more than 170 stores in 36 states across the United States.
