Motorists on Highway 46 West can expect delays of up to an hour Monday through Thursday as Caltrans sprays an asphalt coating on the roadway.

There will be alternating lane closures from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m from Highway 1 to Vineyard Drive, according to Caltrans. Each day, crews are expected to work on 6-mile segments of the highway.

Expected closures are:

  • Monday, June 16, on about 6 miles of Highway 46, starting at Highway 1;
  • Tuesday, June 17, from 6 miles east of Highway 1 to Santa Rosa Creek Road/Old Creek Road; and
  • Wednesday and Thursday, June 18 and 19, from Santa Rosa Creek Road/Old Creek Road to Vineyard Drive.

Drivers can use Highway 41 from Morro Bay to Atascadero as an alternate route.
