RISE thanks walkers

RISE executive directorJune 12, 2014

RISE would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated in the 12th Annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes events in April. This year we were excited to add a walk in Paso Robles, where 50 supporters took to the streets in heels to show their support for survivors of sexual assault. Our event in SLO hosted over 250 walkers! Together, both events raised over $20,000 for RISE programs.

RISE is the recently merged Sexual Assault Recovery and Prevention (SARP) Center and North County Women’s Shelter, where our mission is to transform the lives of sexual and intimate-partner violence survivors, their families and the community through services and education that promote safety, healing and empowerment.

We would also like to thank all our vendors, the musicians and especially our celebrity walkers: Neil Roberts, Frank Madden, Jude Fledderman, Tom Cuddy, Blair Jones, Ken Pazdan, Jason Colombini and Dave Pomfret. And a very special thanks to all the dedicated volunteers who donated their time to make sure this year’s events were a success!
