The Swinging Bridge takes pedestrians across the Arroyo Grande Creek in the Village.

The picturesque Swinging Bridge in the Village of Arroyo Grande is currently closed while city staff conducts some repairs to a small section of the structure.

Portions of a wooden plank on the Heritage Square Park side of the bridge were loose and posing a trip hazard, Arroyo Grande Community Development Director Teresa McClish said Monday.

City public works staff will remove the section and install new pressure-treated boards, she said.

Staff members closed the bridge Monday morning and hope to reopen it by the weekend. McClish didn’t immediately know the cost of the repairs.
