A Templeton man was taken to the hospital Friday afternoon after his motorcycle collided with a sedan in the intersection of Tank Farm Road and Long Street in San Luis Obispo.

The 29-year-old motorcyclist was traveling eastbound on Tank Farm Road when a sedan traveling westbound turned south toward Long Street and the two vehicles collided at about 3:40 p.m., San Luis Obispo police Sgt. Fred Mickel said.

City firefighters responded and provided medical treatment to the motorcyclist before he was taken to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center for evaluation and care. The man was in stable condition but police did not know the extent of his injuries, Mickel said.

The driver of the sedan, a 90-year-old San Luis Obispo woman, did not appear to be injured, he said.

The collision is under investigation and the primary cause has not been determined, Mickel said.
