UPDATE 6 p.m.: The victim has been identified as Tina Marie Beddow, 32, of Templeton.

Original story: A woman called 911 to report a domestic disturbance at a Templeton home Wednesday night. By the time authorities arrived, she was fatally injured, and a man was taken into custody.

Deputies responded to a home on the 400 block of Eric Lane after the report at approximately 10:20 p.m. Wednesday, according to Sheriff's Office spokesman Tony Cipolla. When deputies arrived, they found a woman had been stabbed. She was taken to a local hospital, where she later died of her injuries.

Philip Thomas Hanes, 58, of Templeton was arrested at the scene and booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail on suspicion of murder. As of Thursday evening, Hanes was being held without bail.

The victim is not being identified pending notification of next of kin, but Cipolla said she was the person who called 911.

Cipolla said a 5-year-old child related to the suspect was also at the home during the alleged attack. The child was uninjured and was temporarily placed under the custody of Child Protective Services.

Investigators remained at the residence throughout Thursday and said they believe the alleged crime to be an isolated incident and the result of a domestic dispute.

The investigation remained ongoing as of Thursday evening.
