Library celebration

Friends of the Library Vice-PresidentJune 3, 2014

As the opening of the beautiful new Atascadero Library approaches, Friends of the Library thanks all the generous donors who helped to open its doors.

The donor recognition tree, which honors donations of $1,000 or more, was unveiled at a “Sneak Peek” reception May 31. While they toured the new facility, large donors enjoyed wonderful wine, appetizers, desserts and music from the San Luis Obispo Symphony quartet and the SaxOFun Quartet.

Many local businesses donated to this event. Trader Joe’s provided flowers. Halter Ranch Vineyard, Hilary Graves, Hearthstone Vineyard and Winery and Nichols Winery donated wine. Fig Good Food, Hush-Harbor Artisan Bakery, Dining with Andre Catering, the French Country Bakery and Bistro, Cassie’s Custom Cakes, Pacific Harvest Catering and Guest House Grill donated appetizers and desserts.

On Saturday, the new library will open to the public with a gala celebration including hot dogs, cake, storybook characters and more. The public is invited to join us from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 6555 Capistrano Ave. For more details, consult the Friends of the Library website, http://www.atascaderofriendsofthelibrary.org.
