Plants leave California

Santa MariaJune 2, 2014

Robert Matano will buy no more Toyotas because he is upset with Toyota leaving California. Does he know that Ford closed its East Los Angeles factory many years ago, and General Motors (part owner of a plant in Fremont) closed that factory a few years back?

California has forced the departure of most manufacturing plants in the past 30 or so years because of high costs of operation and environmental restrictions.

If Matano plans to buy only goods made in California, he may find his choices very limited.
